Two weeks ago we went on a day tour to Hout Bay Harbor, Table Mountain National Park where we climbed up Cape Point Peninsula and also visited a penguin farm. When we arrived at Hout Bay we took a small boat over to seal island. Unfortunately, I got a little sea sick on the boat so I did not get many good pictures of the seals. I stepped outside for 30 seconds before running back in.
Our next stop was to Cape Point Peninsula. On our way over we saw ostriches and baboons while on the bus. When we got to Cape Point they told us that baboons were attracted to food so we had to leave all food on the bus. One of my classmates forgot he had a bag of potato chips in his pocket and he pulled them out. Immediately a baboon approached him. He quickly threw the chips at the baboon and ran away. It was scary and funny at the same time. I didn't get any pictures of it though.
Cape Point Peninsula was beautiful! It is the area where the Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean meet. There was a small trail to climb up to a lighthouse where you have a beautiful view. It only took about 30 mins to walk up. Once we got to the top there was a big rock in which visitors wrote their name and could you believe there was a "Makeda Spencer". No one in my group had a marker so I had to write my name in pen. It is not very big but there nonetheless!
In the picture below one side is the Atlantic Ocean and the other is the Indian Ocean!
Our next stop after climbing Cape Point Peninsula was over to Boulder's Penguin Farm! This was one of my favorites! I thought penguins could only live on ice and cold weather but I was mistaken. There are 4 different types of penguins at this farm. Enjoy the pics below!
There was a small beach there that led into the Indian Ocean and even though it was freezing, I could not pass up the chance to dip my feet in!!
It was a long but amazing day!!
Looks like you're having a blast. I'm glad that you got do experience this life. Next time take me with you.
